Children's House

The children's house at old Kibbutz Gesher was built in the late 1930's from bricks made of local mud and in 1948 was badly damaged in the battle. The building was restored by the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites in Israel using the same technique of building with mud. The exhibition we created in the children's house talks about the lives of the children in the kibbutz and is a historical record of the communal and unique way of life. Visitors are invited to sit, touch, play, hear stories, and see the similarities and differences between lives of children then and now.
